The movie A Royal Affair is a historical drama set in the 18th century, at the court of the mentally ill King Christian VII of Denmark, and focuses on the romance between the queen and the royal physician Struensee. Arts Alive has director Nikolaj Arcel in conversation with reporter Elaine Dutka this week.
Reporter Laura Ornest takes Arts Alive to Santa Monica's Broad Stage where Shakespeare's Globe Theatre is performing the story of another Danish king, Hamlet.
Film Critic Kenneth Turan talks to Gail Eichenthal about the UCLA Film and Telvision Archive's screenings of "enormously entertaining" films by the under-appreciated filmmaker Mitchell Leisen. And, as always, Dean Rob stops by to answer your burning musical questions in Ask the Dean.
