Kathy Baker is currently appearing in The Gift at the Geffen Theater. The Gift is the story of two almost comically different couples who meet at a swanky resort and quickly become friends.
LOU HARRISON: A WORLD OF MUSIC FILMMAKER EVA SOLTES
American composer, artist, writer and activist Lou Harrison is the subject of a documentary by filmmaker and music producer Eva Soltes. The film screens Saturday at REDCAT as part of MicroFest (the world’s leading concert series devoted to the glorious universe of non-standard tunings) and explores how Harrison composed his hauntingly beautiful pieces using western, eastern, and custom-made instruments inspired by Javanese gamelan and the Chinese zheng. Eva Soltes and MicroFest founder John Schneider are on Arts Alive.
