Humanizing Headlines: Native Voices Brings "Legal Briefs" to the Autry

Posted By: Kelsey McConnell · 11/7/2013 5:04:00 PM

Jean Bruce Scott and her husband Randy Reinholz co-founded Native Voices 20 years ago with the goal of developing and producing new works for the stage by Native American, Alaska Native, and First Nations playwrights. This Sunday from 1:30-3:30 PM, The Autry hosts Native Voices' Third Annual Short Play Festival. The festival is part of the weekend-long American Indian Arts Marketplace.

Here's Jean Bruce Scott talking to Arts Alive about the founding of Native Voices, how it got from the "Moccasin Telegraph" to the Autry and how this year's short plays are humanizing some of the year's most wrenching headlines.
