KUSC Featured Arts and Culture Sponsor of the Month - March
Opera Santa Barbara's 2009 Festival ushers in a new era of opera with its first season in the newly restored Granada Theatre. During the month of March, the opera festival offers community events free to the public, including Brown Bag concerts and opera previews.
“Carmen” opens the 2009 season, conducted by Santa Barbara Symphony’s Nir Kabaretti. Two performances only -- Saturday, March 7th at 7:30 PM and Sunday, March 15th at 2:30 PM.
Franz Lehar’s “The Merry Widow,” starring Janette Zilioli as Hanna, will bring a close to the festival. Two performances only -- Saturday, March 14th at 7:30 PM and Sunday, March 22th at 2:30 PM.
