Organizations may submit materials to Classical KUSC by email to kusc@kusc.org, by fax (213) 225-7410 or by standard mail, attn: Brian Lauritzen. The event MUST be arts related (classical music, dance, museum exhibit, lecture, etc..), and we MUST receive a press release or brief description at least two weeks prior to the event. No exceptions. Press releases that do not adhere to this will not be considered. Space is always limited, but we will do our best to accommodate all requests.

The theme is Mozart's Gigue for keyboard - K. 574 On May 16th, 1789 Mozart noted down 'a little gigue for keyboard' in the notebook of K.I. Engel, court organist to the Saxon elector, 'as a sign of true real friendship and brotherly love.' The clever G major piece is supposed to be a witty tribute to the memory of Bach.

This piece at times reminicent of Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" was composed by former USC professor (and current Eastman School of Music Dean) Douglas Lowry is titled "Fanfare for Flora" and is performed by the Thornton Symphony in 1999.
