Brian Lauritzen
Brian Lauritzen is the producer and host of KUSC's concert broadcasts of the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl and Piano Spheres recital series, and is the co-host of the LA Phil's broadcasts from Walt Disney Concert Hall with Gail Eichenthal. The two also co-host and produce KUSC's weekly arts magazine Arts Alive. Additionally, Brian writes and produces features for KUSC's more than 50 concert broadcasts each year including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Opera, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Master Chorale, Piano Spheres, and Musica Angelica. His work as part of these series has been broadcast nationally by NPR, American Public Media, and the WFMT Radio Network. Brian is the host of LA Opera's critically acclaimed Behind the Curtain podcast series. He got his start in classical radio at WSMC in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he served as Head Announcer and Music Director. When he's not in the studio, you can often find Brian careening down snowy slopes (on skis-never a snowboard); chasing an errant serve (his own) outside a tennis court; or swinging his sand wedge wildly from the fairway bunker. He's also a passionate lifelong Minnesota Twins fan (yes, they do exist) and is quickly learning to love the Dodgers as his National League team.
If you made a pledge or volunteered your time during our Fall Membership Drive: thank you! With your help, we were able to meet our goals (and have a fun time doing it).
Thank you for keeping classical music alive!
