Gail Eichenthal
Gail Eichenthal is Program Director for KUSC and host of the weekly radio program, Arts Alive. In addition to her work in radio, Ms. Eichenthal is also a respected writer. Her articles have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Symphony Magazine, and Performing Arts Magazine.
Ms. Eichenthal joined KNX 1070 NEWS RADIO as an anchor/reporter in 1995. Nationally, she is perhaps best known as the longtime host and producer of the Los Angeles Philharmonic broadcasts on National Public Radio. She began the series in 1978 at 24, becoming the first woman to host the national radio broadcasts of a symphony orchestra.
In television, Ms. Eichenthal has worked in the Los Angeles area for stations KCET, KCOP and KTLA, hosting various programs on the arts. A winner of 13 Golden Mikes for broadcast journalism excellence from the Radio & TV News Directors Association, Gail also picked up four first place awards from the Greater Los Angeles Press Club in the categories of business reporting, feature reporting, documentary production, and entertainment reporting.
