Met Opera Broadcast
Sat., March 13th at 10 AM

Shostakovich’s The Nose has its first run at the Met this weekend. Directed by William Kentridge and conducted by Valery Gergiev, The Nose is based on a short story of the same name by Nikolai Gogol about a Russian official who wakes one morning to discover his nose has disappeared. Kentridge has called the opera an exploration of “learning from the absurd." Tony Award-winning baritone Paulo Szot stars in his Met debut.
