    This music is as eloquent as the film as a whole itself. If I first heard the score independent of the movie, I would have had as deeply emotional a response to it as I did in the context of the film. Like the score for "On the Waterfront," this music can both stand on its own and also contribute to the film as a whole in the most deeply integrated and powerful way. So moving, so impressive.
