Well, it was Star Wars or Jaws.

Star-Wars, or Jaws? Vivaldi, or Mozart? At least, it was John Williams, but that is like saying, "Thank God they died instantly"...HUH? Classical music is dead in the water...I just do not understand how far better quality music was here to vote on and is here for us to hear, and enjoy, but it is always overshadowed by meritocracy...Schindler's List? not number one?

Not a big fan of film scores in general and would be ecstatic if KUSC played no firm scores at all. Only time I turn off KUSC is when a film score is playing. In my opinion this result is ludicrous - musically speaking (realize the popularity of the film itself)

@jake Some of you who do not appreciate film scores ( and that's OK ) need to realize that John Williams & Howard Shore represent the Romantic music of our time. Many people are exposed to good music through movies who would not otherwise. Some of us can love Star Wars AND Bach, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, etc.

It might be interesting to see the next 25 nominees on the list below these 'winners'. I'd hope to see THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES, KING'S ROW, SUPERMAN, THE GHOST AND MRS. MUIR, JOHNNY BELINDA and THE BIG COUNTRY on it but I might be disappointed... as I was not to see them on this list.

These were some very strange clips to have chosen. I like J. W.'s scores. They fit the genres and can stand alone just as music to listen to, esp. if you are in the mood for rousing fare. From S.T. to S.'s List ( at the bottom, but that's one that got him an Oscar)! Williams can do it all.

Where are the iconic themes from this film? Does not represent!
