Dudamel Conducts The Rite of Spring in LA Phil Season Opener

Gustavo Dudamel conducts his first Rite of Spring with the Los Angeles Philharmonic for the first series of concerts of the 2012-13 LA Phil season this weekend. Join us here as Classical KUSC and NPR Music bring you the Sunday afternoon performance beginning at 2 p.m. The program will open with Ravel’s tender Pavane pour une infante défunte and will feature the world premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer Steven Stucky’s Symphony. Gustavo and the LA Phil will bring the performances to a close with Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, an icon of modernity in music.
