If you’ve ever gone to LA Opera, you’ve heard them. But you may not have seen them. The musicians of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra are usually beneath the stage in the pit. But thanks to a new chamber music ensemble, these talented musicians are getting a chance to shine in front of the audience. Pittance Chamber Music opens their 2016-17 Season on Sunday, Oct 9th at 3PM at the Eva and Marc Stern Grand Hall in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. On the program: Mozart, Chausson and Dohnanyi. I spoke with Pittance Artistic Director (and Assistant Concertmaster for the LA Opera Orchestra) Lisa Sutton about coming out of the pit with Pittance.
