Composer Steven Price received his first Oscar nomination for the space-disaster film Gravity. He discusses with Jim Svejda his decision to compose psychologically in order to match the approach of director Alfonso Cuaron, as well as how he worked without two standards of modern film scoring: No temp track & no percussion.
