Tribute to Steven Stucky, Composer Harry Gregson-Williams

Earlier this year, Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Steven Stucky passed away. In Los Angeles, we feel his absence acutely, because for 21 years, the LA Phil enjoyed a close affiliation with Stucky. This week, we talk to former LA Phil Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen and LA Phil President and CEO Deborah Borda about Stucky. And we talk to composer Harry Gregson-Williams about scoring everything from Shrek to HBO’s Confirmation. Kenneth Turan gives his take on The Jungle Book and recommends a new film series. On Ask the Dean: why are so many “lost” scores miraculously rediscovered?
