Gerard Schwarz was the conductor of the Seattle Symphony for 26 years. But before he headed to the Pacific Northwest, he was the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra’s second-ever music director. Schwarz was in town recently to help celebrate LACO’s 50th anniversary and he told KUSC’s Alan Chapman about his debut with the orchestra.
