Notes from the Fires: Altadena Alto Lives in Harmony

“You just have to have the right group of geeks. You really have to give up your ego and even your taste, to a certain point, in order to sing in a choir. It’s a gift to sing. It’s something you do for other people.”

This week on Notes from the Fires, we’re back with LA Master Chorale veteran Nancy Sulahian, one of the victims of the Eaton fire. Last time, she told us about how music enriches her life.

Today, she and host John Rabe focus on the joy choral music specifically brings her. (Although this episode does include possibly the only recording of Nancy singing solo - a Notes from the Fires exclusive!)

We end today’s episode with the 1st movement of Vivaldi’s Glorias, performed by the Atlanta Symphony and Chorus under choral legend Robert Shaw.
