Notes from the Fires: Instrument Donations Hit Major Milestone
00:00

More than half a year after the Eaton and Palisades fires, people are still putting their lives back together, and for musicians, that means replacing the instruments that burned. The good news is, people are still donating instruments, and the number just passed a wonderful milestone: 1,000!

Today on Notes from the Fires, Host John Rabe talks with Brandon Jay, a TV theme composer and musician, a victim of the Eaton fire, and the founder of Altadena Musicians, which facilitates instrument donations for victims of both fires.

We'll close out today’s episode with music from an instrument we’re pretty sure has not been donated. In 1761, Ben Franklin invented a variation of the glass harmonica called the Glass Armonica. No H. Thirty years later, Mozart wrote this piece for it - the Adagio for Glass Armonica, performed here by Dennis James.
